We are excited to announce the powerful release of two new function modules in the FX20 Series Distributed I/O! Introducing the 2-channel High-Speed Counter Module and the 2-channel Serial Communication Module—each designed to enhance the versatility of FX20 and further enrich control system functions.

FX20 Function Modules: Enhancing Control Systems

The new FX20 modules are built on a high-speed backplane bus and support multiple coupler configurations, providing a broader range of control system functions and improving overall usability.

2-channel High-Speed Counter Module

Dual-Channel High-Speed Counter Module

The FX20 series high-speed counter module features a dual-channel design, each supporting multiple A, B, Z counting modes, and offering both forward and reverse counting. With a maximum counting frequency of 500KHz, it supports source, sink, and push-pull types of high-speed pulse signals. Each channel is equipped with a pair of DI/DO signal points for easy configuration of control logic, such as overspeed alarms and counter resets.

Dual-Channel Serial Communication Module

The FX20 series serial communication module supports two RS485/RS422/RS232 (selectable) communication interfaces, with multiple baud rates. It provides three working modes: MODBUS RTU, MODBUS ASCII, and Transparent Communication, allowing seamless integration with FX20 series couplers. This enables the conversion of MODBUS and other bus protocols, such as Profinet, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, and CC-LINK IE FB. It facilitates connectivity for various devices supporting MODBUS communication, including inverters, measurement instruments, barcode scanners, and RFID systems for PLC and upper-level machine communication.
